“Do you remember
The twenty-first night of September?
Love was changin’ the minds of pretenders
While chasin’ the clouds away”
September by Earth, Wind and Fire
Thank you for singing that song in your head with me. Haha!
Hey dearies! It’s been a month, I know. A good long while. It’s been busy but good and productive.
All the good things.
BER Month has started with excitement!
Fun Fact:
As a Filipina, Christmas in the Philippines starts in September.
Every year, from the 1st of September, decorations will be put up around our country & the festivities begin.
You’ll even start to hear Christmas songs in all the malls, restaurants & on the radio.
But I won’t be digging much in to that. Haha
Would love to highlight our recent Young Workers Camp—where working adults gather together for a metamorphic 3 days.
It was the very first workers’ camp of Lifehouse Church in Japan.
We had the theme Closer to Eternity.
We talked through Biblical outlook about truth, love, relationships, marriage and sex, the reality of a spiritual battle and how we can fight well (since we’ve already won through Jesus).
Take home:
- We should be well-equipped Christians not blind-sided by the enemy because He is sending us out in the world.
- Let’s be shrewd as snakes and innocent as doves (Matthew 10:16)
- You can love people but disagree with them.
- We don’t need to apologize for what the Bible says (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
- Truth and Love complete each other.
- Jesus is the only foundation for eternity.
- Do not just stand on the truth but stand on it.
- Confess your sins. Pray for one another. (James 5:16)
- Do not let your reality block your view of eternity.
& sooo much moooreee.
Going on retreat can have a true restorative and healing effect, offering an opportunity to unplug, de-stress, and rest.
Delighted how we can leave our regular routine and experience something different in order to “retreat” from the ordinary for a while to experience the extraordinary.
I believe that through this camp, we all get to:
- Learn more about ourselves
- Get closer walk with God
- Closer relationships with others
- Greater clarity about God’s call
- Appreciation for the beauty of God’s creation
- Rest
We are not made to go, go, go.
Pausing and going to camps like this can have a true restorative & healing effect, offering an opportunity to unplug, de-stress, and rest.
Can’t wait for the next!
